Consigning Policy & Services Furniture & Home AccessoriesConsigning Women Fine Furnishings previews each item and selects the highest quality pre-owned furniture and accessories. Furniture must be stylish, in good condition, clean and in an acceptable style to our purchasers. Consigning Women reserves the right to reject any item. Our goal is to provide the finest in pre-owned home furnishings and accessories for our customers. We will only accept items that we believe will sell quickly. Consignors may bring their items or a photo of them directly to the store. A consignment period is 90 days.
Click below to preview our Consignment Agreement PricingConsigning Women will price your merchandise to provide you fair market value, while also offering value to our customers. It is our policy not to compromise the consigned price by accepting offers or “bargaining”. Consigning Women applies the following price adjustment schedule:
1st 30 day period: Your consigned items are displayed and offered for sale at fair market pricing determined by Consigning Women.
2nd 30 day period: Merchandise that has not some will be reduced to 30% off the original price. This is the one-month milestone from the consignment date.
3rd 30 day period: The remaining unsold items will be reduced another 30% off the original price. This is the second and final month milestone from the consignment date.
The consignor may remove items before the markdown dates if they do not want their items marked down prior to the expiration of the 90-day consignment period. There is a 15% restocking fee based on the original selling price of the reclaimed items, paid at the time of item removal from our showroom.
PaymentAt Consigned Women Fine Furnishings, our consignors receive 50% of the final selling price during the first 60 days. Consignors receive 45% of the selling price during days 61-90. Consignors are paid during the first week of each month for items sold in the previous month. Checks are mailed to your preferred address. In the rare event that the merchandise has not sold within the 90-day term of the consignment agreement, it must be picked up by the last day of the contract. If the merchandise is not picked up, Consigning Women will donate it, on the consignor’s behalf, to the charity of our choice.
Home Appointment ServiceThe showroom encourages all consignors to bring in a photo of the item you wish to consign. From the photos, we can determine which items are popular and will sell easily. For larger items, Consigning Women offers convenient preview service in your home. Telephone the store to arrange an appointment. A consignment manager will inspect your merchandise to determine the retail price range based on: brand name, general condition, patina, repairs, general consumer demand and pricing. We view each consignment as a partnership. It is in everyone’s interest to price your item at a fair market value that would realistically sell within three weeks. If you agree with the pricing range for your merchandise, the consignment manager will then schedule pickup service or confirm your arrangements for transporting merchandise to our showroom.
Pickup & Delivery ServiceConsigning Women provides pickup and delivery service for a fee within our local radius of 10 miles. Additional charges are applied for merchandise delivery and pickup outside the local area and/or for items that require special handling. Fees are paid at time of furniture pick-up or at time of merchandise purchase at our showroom. Consignors may elect to deliver their own items to our showroom. However, we need to know in advance if you will be bringing in any large items of furniture that will require special moving arrangements. Just telephone a few days ahead and let us know.
Retail Store Policy – No Returns Consigning Women has a “No Return policy”. Consignment shopping differs from department store shopping in that all of our stock is on display at all times. Our inventory consists of usually one-of-kind items, model home samples, estate pieces and closeout furnishings. Check each item carefully before you decide to make a purchase. Every effort is made to insure that Consigning Women’s merchandise is new in condition. It is your responsibility to inspect your selections carefully prior to purchase.
Privacy Policy Consigning Women Fine Furnishings is the sole owner of the information collected on the Web site and at our retail showroom. We only gather information we need to serve you better and will not – without your consent – sell, share, or divulge this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. The only exception will be situations where we may be required to provide information to police agencies. |
